Here are some charts I found from an article in eMarketer. The article is here. It looks like in the next 4 years some experts are looking at growth numbers of about 5x in 'active' podcast users and 3.75x in advertising dollars.

The second episode of Today In Podcasting is now available. This week's guests include Derek and Swoopy from Skepticality and Dan Klass from The Bitterest Pill.

I was very pleased with these interviews in general. Derek tells us about his ordeal last year with his brain aneurism and the resulting 2 months of coma. Very compelling audio. Dan, a stay-at-home actor in LA, is always fun, interesting and we had a ball.

A Couple Of Podcast Announcements

I have a couple of announcements to make on the podcasting front.

First of all, This And That will start up again!! Unfortunately it will be without Pat. Carol and potentially other guests will take her place. Carol brings a great sense of fun to the podcast, a musical goofiness and great intelligence that will fit very well into the current demographic of Jeff and Pat listeners. Look for the show next month!

Second, I have started a podcast with Mike Gould of Podshack and Gary Leland of The Podcast Pickle. This podcast is called "Today In Podcasting" and will deliver about 45 minutes a week of content specifically of interest to podcasters and podcast listeners about interesting and topical topics in the world of podcasting.

We taped the first "Today In Podcasting" last night with guests Scott Fletcher (Podcheck Review) and Rob (Podcast411). It should be up later this week and I will let you know where to find it as soon as it becomes available.
