Shotgun is HUGE
I took Shotgun to get his rabies shot this weekend. Remember, he was 8 pounds when I found him on 5/20 and yesterday, he weighed in at 25.7 pounds! He's a veritable dog-building machine.
And today, I took him to the newly reopened Dog Park at White Rock Lake. He played around with a shephard puppy who was bigger than he was and about 4 weeks younger. So, while Shotgun is much bigger than he used to be, I'm pretty convinced he won't be as big as a pure lab.
Shotgun also got into the lake with the big dogs. There were about 5 or 6 totally fanatic retrieving dogs in the water at the same time and that made Shotgun very exicted about joining in. However, he stayed fairly close to the edge.
When we came home he totally crashed for two hours. Hmmm, so did I and I didn't go into the water....

Pat drops IJL, falls in love this weekend
I met with the IJL folks yesterday and decided not to renew. I'll talk more about it on the podcast.
While I was home in Alabama, I watched CNN with my mom to check out the hurricane status.
I fell in love with one of the newscasters. He had gray hair, looked distinguished and I thought he was some "old" guy.
Well, he's Anderson Cooper and he's only 37! My future husband is the son of Gloria Vanderbilt and graduated from Yale with a degree in Poly Sci.
Wish me luck!

Pat's Head is back to normal
Hi to all those who wrote in to me asking about my headache.
The good news is that on Friday, mid-afternoon, I suddenly felt good! I don't know what happened, the medicine I got at the ER on Thursday didn't seem too effective to me (migrin-A capsules for anyone who has taken them) and I was getting worried even if the doctor wasn't.
But, just as mysteriously as the headache came on, it went away and I am very happy to be normal again.
I was in Alabama visiting my parents this past weekend and my mom gave me 4 pans of home made lasagna to bring back with me! How sweet is that? Oh, and chocolate chip cookies, biscotti, and her home made Limoncello (lemon flavored vodka aperitif). My mom is absolutely muy fabuloso!
I'm hoping to bring the Limoncello to the Podcast Convention in November if we don't sip it up this summer while sitting on the patio listening to our favorite podcasts.....

Dis + Dat
A listener and fellow podcaster (Victor from Typical PC User) snapped this picture on a recent trip to Sausalito for us:

Had no idea we were 'famous' in Sausalito. Thanks for thinking of us and sharing this with us Victor! Someone told me that you MAY have to hit refresh to see this graphic. I stupidly used an old name for the image file...

Hi everyone!
Don't forget, today is the anniversary of the Slurpee and you should be able to get a FREE one at 7-11 (while supplies last)!
I'm going to get a Coca-cola flavored one, tell me what you get.

A Wonderful Note...
Last week we received a very nice blog article from our listener Jennifer (who has a very entertaining blog btw!). She talks about the reasons that she likes our show. It is a very glowing article and we are humbled. Thanks Jennifer!
Pat and I have been trying to figure out a "promo" (everybody has them but us it seems) for our podcast for weeks now but we have been having trouble trying to figure out how and why we are different than the standard "couple-cast". Sometimes how you are perceived through someone else offers the best view so I imagine we will use some of her ideas in our eventual "promo"!
Check out Jennifer's blog (and subscribe!) at Camp Abyss.

So much for medical science
So I woke up this AM with that freaking headache still. I decided, then, to go to the emergency room. I took this one pain med before I went and by the time I spoke to a dr, my head was not hurting any longer. They asked me a bunch of questions and at the end, since I don't have a bunch of other symptoms (mainly vision issues or numbness, blah blah) they told me it's just a tension headache.
A tension headache.
I've had 5 headaches my whole life and I've been under much more pressure in the past. In fact, I feel like I am under no pressure right now.
But, I have a tension headache.
OK, let's see if they go away.

My head hurts sooooooooooo much
I've had about 5 headaches my whole life until this past Friday. I got a headache and I thought, hmmm, what's this all about. Now, it's Wednesday and this headache is still with me. Right this minute, it's the worst it's been. The pain is at the crown of my head a little to the left. I don't have any other weird things going on like sensory hallucinations. Just pain.
Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
