Deep Throat Named

Well... he wasn't exactly named by anyone, but 91-year old Mark Felt admitted that he was "Deep Throat" from the Watergate period. Mark Felt was the second-in-command at the FBI during the time of Watergate.

I had just re-rented the movie "All The President's Men" about 2 months ago and just really loved seeing it again. As an adult (I had seen this movie when I was much younger) everything from the complexities of the investigation itself to the newspaper office politics was much more poignant for me.

Woodward and Bernstein both had quotes today that they have "no comment" on the Vanity Fair article where this was revealed saying that they had pledged to reveal the identity and the circumstances only upon Deep Throat's death.

I love this. One of the great political mysteries of our time. Makes you wonder when all is said and done - how will history judge Deep Throat?

Redford and Hoffman had no comment. "Debbie Does Dallas" remains a mystery... Stay tuned.

Is there a reason for this?

Why does Shotgun play with all the things that aren't dog toys? My house is strewn with litte dog toys, but he wants to play with my shoes, the scrub brush I accidentally left near the bucket I was using while cleaning the floors, the plant with the hanging leaves.....Yeesh. I know, I know, I should put those things away, and I'm getting better at it, but it amazes me that he finds the non-dog toys so much more interesting.

And, I won't even go into the damage he did in my garden. Let's just say, I will have to keep him under house arrest more. And more runs around the block to tire him out.

At least Belle is coming around now. Their favorite game is for Shotgun to be under the chair that Belle can't get under and to bark at each other. Oy.

Pat took these pics of "Shotgun" the podcast puppy....

Check Out The iGuy

This made me laugh. It's pretty funny and I think maybe I should get one. They designed it so it has 'gumby'-like hands so you can move them around and hang things on them. Also, it is equipped so that when he sits, he fits into a standard dock for recharging or syching up. Cool! $35

This Blog Now Has XML

The little orange button in the header to this section takes you to the XML for this blog. Just click the button and cut-and-paste the resulting URL into your favorite feed reader to subscribe to Jeff and Pat Blog goodness...

Pat Has A New Job

I started a new job on Monday, after leaving my employer of 17 years. My new team decorated my new office with streamers and balloons and gave me a gift bag too. They took me to lunch to a very fun place.

I can now wear jeans to work, and while I am not morally opposed to jeans at work, somehow I can't get used to it. I have, since starting my new job, worn open toed shoes and a sleeveless top. Both of these clothing items were verboten where I used to work. Evidently, now, the men I work with actually can see women's toes and shoulders and STILL WORK! Huh!

Changed "News" To "Blog"

The "News" page is gone and has now become the "Blog" page. How's THAT for big news? If I can ever get Pat to figure out how to blog, she will also contribute here...

Anyone Here?

Does anybody make it to this 'news' page? Anyone? lol Leave a comment just so I know people are reading this. Hmm... perhaps if I changed it from "news" which sounds boring to "blog" which sounds WAY cool!

iTunes 4.9 Adding Support For Podcasts

This could be cool! (especially for those that use iTunes currently). This could mean no more third party applications would be needed for downloading podcasts (i.e. no more ipodder, ipodderx, doppler, etc...).

Apparently this will be out in 60 days or so (yea, we'll see about that) and will allow a podcast user to either sign up for feeds like a current subscription application or go to featured feeds. These featured feeds will be selected by Apple. Rumor has it they will tend to feature the more 'professional' podcasts produced by current business and media companies. But we'll see.

New Look

I just started to put together a new look for the website. We will be filling up the content within the next week probably sooner! I like the idea of having a mini-'blog' within the website itself that doesn't utilize the same page as the audio podcasts.

I have turned off the XML for this news page but could turn it on and provide a feed address for this news/blog area only if anyone is interested.

Pat's Mother's Day Tribute

Pat put together her first 'audio story' (I'm so PROUD of her!). This is a wonderful portrayal of the relationship that she has with her mom. It was done for Mother's Day but she had to climb many learning curves in getting it out. Check it out:

Another Dallas Podcaster

Last weekend we had lunch with a fellow podcaster (Andrew from Exit 50). We talk about our show and the future of podcasting over meatball sandwiches. Check it out over at Exit 50.
