Active Weekend
This was one of those weekends where you are really exhausted at the end of it. Though it WAS a good exhaustion. Friday night, Shoko and I went to a favorite Mexican-style eatery called Taco Diner and then to a Tango 'workshop'. This workshop was unlike what we were used to. We were moving! This was definitely exercise. On Saturday, I took a bike-ride in the morning while Shoko attended Aikido class. This set us both up for a well-deserved leisurely Saturday. We went to a presentation by a friend of Shoko's followed by dinner at an Asian 'Tapas' place called Nandina's and a movie later in the evening.
On Sunday, we attended Talk Cinema in the morning and then spent 6 hours at the Texas State Fair where I enjoyed a Corny Dog, a fried Twinkie, sausage on a stick, funnel cake, and gummy candy. Stomach happy then not so happy...

Well, I guess the one fringe benefit of no shows is that you guys are actually posting to the blog, now.
But, really, come on, now...
Let's get this show on the road.

You guys would have fun going to Buenos Aires. I went a while ago.. hmmm more than five years now I guess (has it been that long ?!?) There were tango shows and even Tango dancers in the streets in some areas!! Happy dancing.

Well, I'M posting to the blog anyways, Ferg! ;-)
Yes, I definitely see Buenos Aires in our future - just got to get a bit better first so we are confident when we attend our first Argentinian milonga! I have always wanted to go to Argentina...

What's Talk Cinema? And how was the fried Twinkie? I've never tried that...

Talk Cinema is a movie screening where you go see a movie that is not out yet and you get engaged in a conversation afterwards about the movie with a local reviewer. The interesting thing is that you don't know what the movie is before you go so that you get to see movies that you might not otherwise go to.
The fried twinkie is a twinkie wrapped around some batter and deep-fried. For the record: not very good!

Stupid Red River Rivalry...
Buenos Aires is cool. Since I went as a business traveler, I can only speak to the quality of the restaurants on the wharf. Mui bueno.
A caution to you, Jeff, about going with a woman with whom you're having a relationship. The women in BA are extremely attractive. You may find yourself ending your trip with whiplash, baby. So, either get a neck brace before you go to prevent yourself gandering, or just tie Shoko's hands to her side, so she can't smack you.

Funny Brad!
Actually our tango teacher has told us that the MEN in BA our among the most handsome in the world. Thus tying Shoko's hands to my side is probably a better idea :-)

Hi bpende,
That's a good suggestion for Jeff. Maybe he and I need to remove contacts in BA and we just wear our dorky glasses. I believe that Jeff will have been aware of my powerful kicks by the time we get to BA, though.

Ouch! And these aren't just kicks, they're black-belt kicks.... shudder... ;-)
