Great Chinese Food In Dallas

Shoko and I went to a friend of her's (Ellen) and had homemade Chinese food last night. Ellen's mother is visiting from Taiwan and made us a feast of five dishes - all of them spectacular. My stomach is still happy this morning. Shoko asked her for the recipe of one of the dishes we both especially liked - a very spicy noodle and pork dish. Unfortunately, as with all great cooks, she said she never makes it exactly the same but she will write down the basic idea for us.

I feel proud as a Chinese. Haha...

If you want to taste the most original Chinese food, you'd better come to China. We have several main systems of food and each has its own charactoristics. You are sure to find what you like here.

Keep on podcastting. I like your podcast very much!

    Hi Chen,

I have been to China - the north part - Beijing. I remember having spectacular food. Obviously I don't know all the regional differences but I'm aware that they can be quite vast. I believe Beijing is noted for it's Duck (obviously) and the more 'hearty' dishes such as noodes and dumplings.

I hope to get back to China and see much more of your wonderful country!

    Really? You've been to China?

I am in the south part of China and have been to Beijing too. Though BJ is the capital and a big city, its food is kind of not my taste. Generally speaking, the food in North China tastes stronger than that in the South. And dishes in the south provinces are more carefully made, with more color and decorations made of vegatables. Anyway, try them by yourself is sure the best way. Besides food, the Chinese culture is also fascinating. Hope you have chance to come back and experience more by yourself.
    Good day!
